Scientists from around the world agree - the chemicals in plastic packaging are contaminating our food and putting our health, particularly the health of our children, at risk.
An unprecedented report documenting over 1,000 peer-reviewed studies on the subject, called Impacts of Food Contact Chemicals on Human Health: A Consensus Statement has been published in the peer-reviewed journal, Environmental Health, by the Food Packaging Forum and other scientific advisors on March 3.
This statement could not be clearer: single-use packaging isn’t just a pollution crisis- it’s a public health threat.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was launched in 2000 and has
$46.8 billion in assets (December 2018). It is the largest charitable
foundation in the world and distributes more aid for global health than
any government. One of the foundation’s stated goals is to globally
enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty.
The Gates Foundation is a major funder of the CGIAR system (formerly
the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research) – a
global partnership whose stated aim is to strive for a food-secured
future. Its research is aimed at reducing rural poverty, increasing food
security, improving human health and nutrition and ensuring sustainable
management of natural resources.
In 2016, the Gates Foundation was accused of dangerously and
unaccountably distorting the direction of international development. The
charges were laid out in a report by Global Justice Now: ‘Gated Development – Is the Gates Foundation always a force for good?‘
According to the report, the foundation’s strategy is based on
deepening the role of multinational companies in the Global South.
On release of the report, Polly Jones, the head of campaigns and policy at Global Justice Now, said:
“The Gates Foundation has rapidly become the most
influential actor in the world of global health and agricultural
policies, but there’s no oversight or accountability in how that
influence is managed.”
She added that this concentration of power and influence is even more
problematic when you consider that the philanthropic vision of the
Gates Foundation seems to be largely based on the values of ‘corporate
America’:
“The foundation is relentlessly promoting big
business-based initiatives such as industrial agriculture, private
health care and education. But these are all potentially exacerbating
the problems of poverty and lack of access to basic resources that the
foundation is supposed to be alleviating.”
The report’s author, Mark Curtis, outlines the foundation’s promotion
of industrial agriculture across Africa, which would undermine existing
sustainable, small-scale farming that is providing the vast majority of
food across the continent.
Curtis describes how the foundation is working with US agri-commodity trader Cargill in an $8 million project to “develop the soya value chain” in
southern Africa. Cargill is the biggest global player in the production
of and trade in soya with heavy investments in South America where GM
soya monocrops (and associated agrochemicals) have displaced rural
populations and caused health problems and environmental damage.
According to Curtis, the Gates-funded project will likely enable Cargill to capture a hitherto untapped African soya market and eventually introduce GM soya onto the continent. The Gates foundation is also supporting projects involving other chemical and seed corporations, including DuPont, Syngenta and Bayer. It is effectively promoting a model of industrial agriculture, the increasing use of agrochemicals and patented seeds, the privatisation of extension services and a very large focus on genetically modified crops.
Huge quantities of raw materials are needed for mobile phones, copper pipes or wind turbines. Things that we Europeans naturally use are produced in South America under the harshest conditions. It’s a filthy business.
Latin American politicians are still relying on exports of raw materials to fuel unchecked economic growth - policies that go back more than 400 years to colonial times. The price is paid by the very same people who are affected by the consequences. The Europeans who benefit from the raw materials from South America are partly to blame. Cerro de Pasco in Peru is considered one of the dirtiest cities in the world because of its proximity to Swiss company Glencore’s gigantic open-cast mine, which extracts zinc, silver and lead for the world market. Anyone living in Cerro de Pasco absorbs heavy metals via tap water. The levels it contains are well above the World Health Organization’s threshold values. La Rinconada, what was once a small village 5,000 meters up in the Andes, has been gripped by gold fever for more than ten years and its population has exploded to more than 50,000 in that time. Gold from there is usually flown to Switzerland by courier. At the same time, La Rinconada itself has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, with rubbish piled up for miles at the entry to the town.
The greed for raw materials is growing and growing - and recently triggered a disaster in Brazil. At the Brumadinho iron ore mine in January 2019, a retention basin burst and buried more than 250 people in toxic sludge. Previously, Germany’s TÜV technical aid organization had classified the reservoir as safe. An earlier, similar accident didn’t result in tougher laws and the mine operators did not even pay the fines imposed on them by the courts. The new president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, also continues to focus on deregulation. Before the disaster, he even wanted to leave the safety controls to the mine operators themselves. The unregulated mining of raw materials is rapidly spreading across South America, even into what were largely undeveloped regions. Indigenous populations are putting up a fight - and often paying with their lives.
Some people use bleach to eliminate mildew and mold. Others sterilize objects, shine dishware and clean toilets. Bleach has become such a convenient part of our daily lives that many people tend to overlook the dangers of it.
The Dangers of Bleach
The chemical makeup of bleach is a corrosive mixture that can cause more harm than good. When mixed in certain environments it creates deadly poisonous gas.Advertisement
Pets are susceptible to its vapors. Direct contact with the skin can cause intense irritation and burning. Even with vast knowledge of the complicated chemistry behind bleach’s dangers, it’s never an entirely safe option.
Bleach becomes an even less attractive option when you consider the wealth of safe alternatives with parallel effectiveness. The bleach alternatives listed below let you bid farewell to the dangers and noxious smell of bleach with effective and safe results.
I will also share with you a simple, cheap and effective cleaners that can be used to clean the dirtier part of your house – your toilet.
Eight Great Alternatives to Bleach
1. Vinegar
When you overlook the potent smell, this cure-all liquid is a home maintenance tool with a ton of useful properties. Not to mention it’s completely safe, many people even use different forms of it for cooking and condiments. You can use it to replace bleach when doing your laundry at home.
For laundry, the acetic properties of vinegar will help brighten your clothes and remove leftover soap residue. Simply add 1 cup of distilled vinegar to a pot of boiling water and let it sit a few minutes. A few minutes after removing from heat, add the clothes and let them sit overnight. On the following day remove the clothes and wash them like you normally would.
Baking Soda is yet another safely consumable alternative that people have used in a variety of settings. It’s been used to make toothpaste, treat bug bites, wash dishware, clean ovens, deodorize your home, the list goes on…
The greatest way to replace bleach with baking soda is during laundry. The alkali properties help when it comes to breaking down greasy stains and residue. By adding ½ cup of baking soda to your regular powdered laundry detergent your clothes will come out cleaner and with less odor than usual.
Natural Toilet Cleaner with Baking soda and Vinegar
Here is a cheap, simple and effective cleaner that can be used to clean what’s considered to be the dirtiest part of the house – the toilet. Baking soda is excellent for removing stains while white vinegar has antiseptic/disinfectant properties. Both substances neutralize the odor and are safe for everyone.
You will need:
1 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup baking soda
Instructions:
Pour the white vinegar into the toilet bowl and brush the toilet bowl with the vinegar. Let it sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes take your toilet brush and dip it into the toilet to wet it. Take it out and sprinkle some baking soda onto the brush. Clean the inside of the toilet with the brush while repeating the baking soda sprinkle procedure until the baking soda is gone. That’s it – the toilet is clean.Advertisement
3. Hydrogen Peroxide
Plenty of people shy away from this product because there is slight intimidation associated with the chemical name. In actuality this non-toxic disinfectant is far safer and just as effective as bleach in several residential applications. Hydrogen peroxide can be used in the kitchen, laundry room and even the bathroom as a hygienic aid.
To brighten laundry, add ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide with laundry detergent before a routine wash. Mix in a spray bottle with a bit of water and use it in the kitchen to clean cutting boards, sponges, and even vegetables of bacteria. In the bathroom you can use it for whiter nails and even as a mouthwash to kill bacteria when diluted with water (and rinsed thoroughly without swallowing).
Another great alternative to bleach might be a lemon sitting in your fridge or atop a fruit basket. The acidic properties of lemon make them a non-toxic way to clean and disinfect kitchen materials such as cutting boards and trays. Not to mention they also leave behind a much more pleasant scent than bleach.
To use lemon juice as an alternative to bleach, cut the lemon in half and rub it on to the affected area. You can also drain the juice and mix it with water in a spray bottle. Some people toss the finished rinds down a garbage disposal to clean them out.
Castile styled soap is made from olive oil with techniques that dates back over several centuries of Spanish history. Its effectiveness combined with natural ingredients makes it an appealing alternative to bleach. Many soaps are made of chemical detergents, but Castile soap is entirely biodegradable and safe to use around pets and family.Advertisement
Most people dilute the Castile soap with water and use it to clean bathrooms, dishes and cookware. It makes a great laundry detergent when combined with white vinegar, baking soda, washing soda and borax. Some have also used Castile soap as shampoo for both people and pets, floor cleaning solution, toothpaste and carpet cleaner. You can also combine a tablespoon of Castile soap with several cups of water in a spray bottle and safely clean your produce of bacteria.
Borax is a mixture of a mineral and salt and has become a useful component in several applications. It’s commonly used as a detergent, in cosmetics, a fire retardant and even as an antifungal agent.
It’s commonly mixed in with laundry detergent to give it a cleaning power boost, but it can also serve as a disinfectant. Its gritty properties makes it an ideal ingredient for scrubbing and cleaning dirty and grimy surfaces. When mixed with Castile soap and water it becomes a great way to scrub sinks and toilets clean.
Natural Toilet Cleaner with Borax and Vinegar
You will need:
1 cup Borax 1/2 cup white vinegar in a spray bottle
Instructions:
Flush the toilet to wet the sides of the bowl and sprinkle the Borax around the rim and sides of toilet. Spray the white vinegar over the Borax and allow to sit for several hours or overnight. Clean thoroughly with a toilet brush until the bowl is clean.
Natural Household Cleaner Recipe with Borax and Essential oils
Have you noticed that many of our household cleaners and home deodorizers have lemon and pine smells? Well, it is not an accident that we associate lemon and pine smells with cleanliness. Essential oils have the potential to kill germs, destroy bacteria and eliminate bad odor due to their antiseptic qualities. The good thing about essential oils is that they don’t only cover up bad odors, but actually change the chemical molecular structure.Advertisement
There have been many studies about the effectiveness of essential oils in disinfecting room air. According to these studies, essential oils are rich in components that have germ killing properties. The most well known of the tested microorganisms that were dramatically inhibited by the diffusion of essential oils was E. coli that can cause serious food poisoning in humans, and is occasionally responsible for product returns due to food contamination. Some essential oils work directly on neutralizing these harmful organisms.
Dr. Jean Valnet, who was a medical doctor in Paris and was also an army physician and surgeon, experimented with essential oils in the post World War II years, and established amazing results. One of them was to demonstrate the anti-bacterial properties of eucalyptus essential oil. He found out that a 2% dilution in spray form killed 70% of the airborne staphylococcal bacteria, which can cause various infections in our body.
Here is an all natural easy and effective household cleaner, that will be gentler and safer alternative to what you may be currently using and will have great deodorizing and effective germ killing properties. These are important not only at home, but in places that often have large number of people, such as gyms, schools and workplaces.
How to make:
Add 1/2 (half) a cup of borax to 1 gallon (4 liters) of tepid warm water. Then add 20 drops antibacterial essential oils such as bergamot, orange, lemongrass, tea tree, juniper, pine, citronella, peppermint, lemon, sandalwood, eucalyptus, lavender and rosemary.
It can be used in place of your household cleaners and is just as effective as industrial strength brands without the potential harm to your health.
And finally another tip – You can put a few drops of the above essential oils on the vacuum cleaner bag or filter for extra cleaning power and for additional great scent.
7. Tea Tree Oil
This bleach alternative, otherwise known as melaleuca oil, is a natural essential oil with a wide variety of uses. It has been used in cosmetics to treat acne, infection and dandruff. As a bleach alternative, tea tree oil is a great-smelling way to disinfect and clean virtually any area of your home. By mixing a few drops with warm water in a spray bottle you’ll wield great tool for cleaning floors, counter-tops and appliances with a scent similar to pine.

8. Solar Power
No, this doesn’t mean buying solar panels to use in any way, just harnessing the power of the sun’s rays. If you want to whiten your laundry you can easily hang it up outside to dry where the sun’s rays can hit it. Ultra-violet light gives a subtle bleaching effect to white clothing. It’s worth keeping in mind that it might cause colorful clothes to fade however. You can also place an object outside on a sunny day and the sun’s rays will help to disinfect it.
Sure, you need some good recipes or some great restaurants if you want to find tasty food these days, especially food that also happens to be healthy for you, but the daunting task is eliminating toxins that ruin almost any dish and any meal by sabotaging the “good stuff” with “food stuff” that’s not even really food at all.
The product police have been running the gamut for a couple decades now, and most health enthusiasts know better than to eat the most popular toxins, but still, people attempt bizarre diets, over-celebrate holidays, travel and eat “whatever,” and then they slip back into bad habits and become human filters for poison. That’s what it really boils down to, and your cleansing organs pay the ultimate price.
The top 10 food toxins break down, burden, and literally deteriorate the lining of your kidneys, your liver, and your pancreas, restricting normal function. Then comes chronic inflammation. Then comes the pain, the itching, the intolerable headaches. Then come the crippling symptoms. One after another. That’s the Standard American Diet at work on you.
SAD: Eat toxic food and listen to bad MD advice
That’s when M.D.s (medical dieties) sling chemical experiments down your throat (prescription medications) to address all the warning signs of T.F.D. (toxic food disorder), without ever addressing a single one of the top 10 food toxins. Medical doctors simply do not ask you about food. They’re not allowed to, or the AMA will come suspend their license until they remember where they came from (think Flexner Report here).
Are you constantly lacking energy? Do you feel like the “aging process” is getting the better of you? Has every diet in the world failed to meet your expectations? You’re not alone. Ideal health and longevity are really not about any kind of diet anyway. It’s about whole food and 70 percent raw food. It’s about organic, unadulterated plant-based food. If it’s processed in any way, you’re losing nutrition and asking for trouble.
Corporations use toxic additives and preservatives to make money, not to protect you from anything. They protect themselves from lawsuits. They add shelf life to products while shortening human life. It’s always only about the money. So here they come. Did you forget about some of these horrific “food stuff” ingredients?
10 Food toxins you should stop consuming immediately
#1. Canola oil – coagulates in your blood, causing weight gain, hypertension, inflammation, cancer, dementia
#2. Bleached Foods – burns the epithelial tissue in your pancreas, bladder and prostate, leading to cancer
#3. Sodium Benzoate – destroys the protective protein coating of your mytochondria (cells), depriving them of oxygen until they die, leading to cancer cells taking over
#4. Nitrates – highly concentrated salts used to kill wild pigs – may be leading cause of cancer worldwide
#5. MSG – Monosodium glutamate – another highly concentrated, genetically modified form of salt that causes extreme migraine headaches from dehydration, and has even given infants brain damage
#6. Aspartame – Genetically modified bacteria hundreds of times sweeter than sugar that causes anxiety, leading doctors to prescribe horrifically dangerous SSRI drugs
#7. Sucralose – Artificially engineered in a laboratory to cause irritable bowel syndrome and remains in the cleansing organs for extended periods of time
#8. Gluten with glyphosate – loaded with chemical preservatives and softening agents after being sprayed with the most deadly weed killer, glyphosate, which functions as a drying agent before grains are processed and put in the silos
#9. Processed sugar – comes from GMO corn so it contains deadly insecticide and herbicide, besides being the favorite feeding chum for cancer cells
#10. Table salt – irradiated, processed, and bleached – table salt carries no nutritional value while fueling chronic inflammation and blood pressure complications
Tune in to NaturalCures.news and find out how to get some of these toxins out of your body ASAP, including heavy metal toxins. This has been a public service announcement from Natural News. Read the ingredients label on everything before purchasing. Stay frosty.
A new study conducted at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington(HealthData.org) and published in The Lancet medical journal finds that a shocking 20 percent of global deaths are caused by toxic foods, junk foods, processed foods and harmful food ingredients. In essence, the study reveals that the toxic food industry is now about as dangerous as Big Tobacco.
The study, based at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, compiles data from every country in the world and makes informed estimates where there are gaps… Diet is the second highest risk factor for early death after smoking. The problem is often seen as the spread of western diets, taking over from traditional foods in the developing world.
In other words, all the toxic food ingredients, processed foods, junk foods and fast foods that we’ve been warning you about for years are now being recognized by the science establishment to be one of the leading killers of human beings across our planet. Many of these foods are saturated with glyphosate and pesticides, and an increasing number are also genetically engineered. The food industry, in other words, is about as dangerous to human health as the tobacco industry, yet while Big Tobacco is highly regulated, there are virtually no enforced regulations that limit heavy metals, pesticides or dangerous chemical ingredients (like aspartame) in the U.S. food supply.
Once again, this emerging science confirms Natural News as being scientifically correct and way ahead of the curve. We’ve been warning readers about the toxicity of the food supply for almost 15 years, even as the corrupt food industry attempted to discredit anyone who dared report the truth about toxic ingredients such as high-fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils.
